SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

Kate Edwards-Shaw is the SENCo, but many other members of staff have attended the SENCo training and we all work closely together with regard to any child in our setting with special educational needs.

As part of our Pre-School policies we have regard for the DfES Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (2001). We also ensure our provision is inclusive to all children with special educational needs.

We work together to support parents and children with special educational needs (SEN). We identify the specific needs of children with special educational needs and meet those needs through a range of SEN strategies.

The Pre-School firmly believes that we should work in partnership with parents and other agencies in meeting individual children’s needs at all times. We constantly monitor and frequently review our policies, practices and provisions and make necessary adjustments when appropriate.

First Aider and Food Hygiene.

Each full-time member of staff at Constantine Pre-School has a Paediatric and Emergency first aid qualification. All members of staff have completed a food hygiene course recognised by OFSTED.

All our staff continue to train and study throughout the year to ensure that they are updated with current guidelines and legislation.
